My graduation project was an investigation into the garbage disposal system of Amsterdam. In comparison to the rest of the Netherlands, people from Amsterdam do a pretty poor job separating their garbage. In order to change the attitude of my fellow citizens I decided to create an application.
There are different reasons why people don’t separate their rubbish. It’s seen as time-consuming and you don’t see the immediate effect of your efforts. The prototype I designed provides people with interesting news and articles concerning waste disposal. It will motivate people to think “green” and trigger them into changing their behavior.
It’s my contribution to helping Amsterdam catch up with the rest of the Netherlands.
